We are all very excited here at Foodie Head Quarters, The Keys for the retail outlet on Holyrood Road were passed over a few days ago. Exciting!
We then received the drawings and plans from the interior designer (Lisa), it looks very nice and homely. It is being fully decked out in light oak wood, very neutral and light walls with an accent of crimson. I am assured by Lisa accents of colour really add to an interior…
On Monday the Plasterers went in to start the work, so we are all going to check out the progress tomorrow (Wednesday 8/7/09). Can’t wait to get rid of the dark brown paint that is all over the walls. Continue reading “Let the work begin!!!”
Finally we have launched a fantastic range of chilled goods. It has been a difficult job in two respects. The hardest being the large number of excellent Scottish food suppliers to choose from, second being the logistics of delivering the chilled goods nice and cold to peoples doorsteps around the UK.
We tasted lots of delicious Scottish smoked salmon and decided to start of with Inverawe Smokehouse providing Classic, Organic and Gravadlax salmon. Inverawe have been smoking fish since 1980 when Robert and Rosie Campbell-Preston decided to set up business in the West Coast. The hot smoked salmon comes from another multi award winning supplier, Salar smokehouse. Salar smoked salmon in produced in South Uist a really beautiful part of Scotland (see photo). The newest addition to the Foodie family is Winston… a big welcome to you! Winston is the new Foodie Wagon. He was purchased in March of this year. Tootling about in our regular cars just wasn’t practical for picking up all the delicious products and delivering the tasty Foodieboxes.
Winston is a big black shiny Ford Pick up XLT which arrived in spring. We try to be as green as we can at Foodie HQ so buying such a monster wagon we (not personally) planted 100 trees to offset the carbon emission! Continue reading “Foodie Wagon”
