We are all very excited here at Foodie Head Quarters, The Keys for the retail outlet on Holyrood Road were passed over a few days ago. Exciting!
We then received the drawings and plans from the interior designer (Lisa), it looks very nice and homely. It is being fully decked out in light oak wood, very neutral and light walls with an accent of crimson. I am assured by Lisa accents of colour really add to an interior…
On Monday the Plasterers went in to start the work, so we are all going to check out the progress tomorrow (Wednesday 8/7/09). Can’t wait to get rid of the dark brown paint that is all over the walls.
The team at Foodie H.Q. are full steam ahead ’behind the scenes’ tasks being ticked off the list, sourcing crockery, cutlery, takeaway packaging, cake stands, flowers, skips Aaaahhh !!!
We also start our first round of interviews tomorrow. Really looking forward to meeting and recruiting to the new ‘foodie team’. We asked applicants to tell us why they classified themselves as a foodie. After 148 CVs being sent in 24 hours you can imagine some of the great explanations we received –
‘We are strawberry pickers in Perthshire and this job opportunity is this the light at the end of our poly tunnel’
‘I don’t eat to live, I live to eat’
Better go, so much to do.
We are looking for Scottish artists and photographers to exhibit their work on the walls of the new café. So let us know if you would like to get involved.
